I get Problogger in my email everyday! It seems when I am trying to improve on certain skills in blogging..the articles on his blog somehow points to me. Remember the song, "You're So Vain"?????

Well yes, his posts are written for me and for you and anyone else who wants to improve their skills. He writes about things we often ponder..and today I was wondering?
Am I obsessed with my stats readers?
Recently I flipped out because of my globe disappeared...and when my map disappeared...I admit it really affected me..believe it or not..I had a hard time writing..such a hard time..I had to call Brad.
Today I was wondering which of these counters if any are truly correct?..especially since many of my stats sometimes don't coordinate..
Before I read this great article...I was looking at all my stats...I was checking out the globe..and viewing my map..I just wonder if I spend too much time...reviewing my numbers..and which one is actually correct? After all I use clustermaps, mybloglog, geoglobe..and my statistics tool on this platform..I'm sure I forgot some other tools that I use..and you ask...why are you so obsessed with numbers readers?

Am I obsessed with my stats? Yes I admit...not only am I addicted to Activerain..and I am also obsessed with my stats or maybe for me I prefer to call them readers!

I love to look at my stats because they just always amaze me. I admit it's the first thing I look at when I log in.
I'm guilty of looking at my stats too much too... but they're there for you to see how many points you have :)
Hey Midori! I'm a stat geek! So, yes. I love to look at my stats here on AR, on my wordpress blog, and everywhere else I have stuff posted!
What's even funnier is that I like to look at other people's stats as well! Too bad that you can only see the accumulated points for another ActiveRain user. Would be great to see the points they receive per specific post - as a way to analyze success and try to learn from it!

Great post - and of course we are delighted that you use and have stuck with ClustrMaps!
I just wanted to make three quick points (that probably won't help your addiction to stats!):
1. we started displaying country totals alongside the big maps, which makes it easier to get a quick overview of 'what is going on'
2. we've just awarded you with a free upgrade to ClustrMaps+ (better zoomed-in-continent maps, no ads), which will kick in within a few days... I think you'll love it!
3. we emphasize the 'gestalt visualization' more than the stats, so you can get a quick overview of what is going on, but only one update per day so it does not need to take up much of your time!

Ok CJ-I spotted the country visit and was going to post about it and I probably will..still BUT without my map I feel naked...an upgrade??? now that is awesome and I have a huge smile on my face...no it won't help with my obsession but the addicted...like myself...like every fix! :) Thank you..and I really love your product. Hi Midori! This is definitely right up my alley--I LOVE stats and love my ClustrMaps too! Jeremy removed it from my side bar and put it on my profile page. I also agree with you that some of the stats are conflicting, which takes me more time to dig and double check. This is a business and numbers are VERY important in our everchanging planning!
