Mom and Dad renewed their vows and it was such a beautiful event. As my father kissed the bride..it was just another reminder..that life is good...but definitely not easy.
50 years...7 children....11 grandchildren...and still so in love with one another. As they took their stroll down the isle...I don't think there was a dry eye in sight and my excitement grew knowing Jeannette would be here.
As I was getting my father a plate a food. I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Jeanette and her son Andrew, have you ever seen her? Well she is a cutie pie and none of her photo's or her avatars do her justice. She's a beauty inside and out.
We sat and talked but not for long. There is a tradition when dad meets my girl friends. No and's...but's and or's about it. You see my father is faithful to one woman but I gotta tell you he is an equal opportunity kind of guy. He loves beautiful women and Jeannette was no exception. Fella's envy him..because it seems most of the girls are eager to kiss him! Once again Jeannette was no exception!

We did manage to talk about the challenge and got a lot of small talk in. I took a video with the flip video.. Hey, I want one of those! Much better than my camera and very easy to use.
I tested the iphone..and I have to say..it makes my treo feel like a hunk of junk. The iPhone I love and to me a great piece of technology.
While both of us have previous engagements and will not be able to attend Inman..we will both be at NAR.
So here is what I learned about my apprentice. Jeannette is no different from me..it seems the tasks pile in our lives just gets bigger and bigger BUT I will say we both welcome it and she is no different.
Her warmth is extraordinary, she is a nice person, a good person BUT tough. She is social and accomodating and tells it like it is..No wonder her real estate career is flourishing.
She isn't petty or sweats the small stuff..she is focused..she is driven and a go getter. These are the traits needed to be a great real estate professional.

While we only had about 2 hours together..it really didn't matter...we talk at least 3 times every single day. She has become one of my very close friends, one of the many benefits of participating in this contest.
While the Makeover2Takeover ran for 8 weeks...I told her..I'll be watching you...and she has an idea that the mentoring will continue on! To me its been a very challenging 8 weeks, a very stressful 8 weeks but 8 weeks that has changed both our lives.
If ever you get the chance to partake in a contest..don't sit on the sidelines...don't make fun of it..participate and you will see.
The Makeover2Takeover contest...was about increasing business and productivity..these tasks weren't just homework or just things to do...while some would say they had no time for it...these tasks have already enhanced and changed both mine and Jeannette's business..and truthfully...these tools should already be in place.
The great thing for us..we had the opportunity to enhance them and got fresh new ideas. Fresh enough to sell some real estate.
Activerain...I gotta hand it to you! Just another reason why I love this network and to think..not only have I gained new skills and fresh ideas but made some incredible friends along the way!

Congratulation to your parents for an amazing 50 years.
We have all found so many friends in the Rain. To me they are more than a friend, they are my family members.
BTW, that's a beautiful picture of you an Jeannette.
Midori, I'm so glad you and Jeanette got to meet! I want so much to meet my apprentice also as we have become lifelong friends.
You are so lucky to have both your parents and they look so cute! Good luck to you two in the challenge.
Later in the rain~Deb
Congratulations to your parents, Midori.
That is fantastic. I am so sorry to hear you will not get to come to Inman. I was soooooooooooooooo looking forward to meeting you both. Bummer.
Hey, I'll accept your reward if you win! Just kidding, but I am beyond excited to meet so many from Activerain.
The best written story on the importance of ActiveRain and networking to it's full potential! Your hard work is paying off and that's wonderful. I am happy for both of you. What gorgeous parents. Congratulations!
It was great to finally meet you!!! I your Dad is a Cutie Pie himself!!
Must have been a nice event. We just came back from NJ we had a big party for my wife's parents...they just celebrated their 50th too.
Great story - would'nt we all be so lucky to have that kind of connection with our significant other
Thank you for sharing your amazing story with us! And congratulations to your parents!
Great, sweet story Midori, and I loved seeing the pictures! That kind of lifetime commitment is almost impossible to find any more. Or you can find it, but the lifetime is much shorter... lke 7 years!
Sharon-the song is very sentimental to our family and it was a perfect choice! I too have watched the video a couple of times...I get goosebumps and more tears watching it.
Mana-Picnik is awesome for those special affects. Thanks for stopping by. p.s. I heard about it ...where else Activerain.
Hi Deb-thank you and yes I feel very lucky to have met her!
Missy-me too! I am dying to meet you all but I am committed to be a labor coach and I am taking it very serious. The due date is very soon..and she has slowly started the process of labor. I'll be at NAR and I hope you will too!
David-I have gotten so much from the rain..there are is not enough time and my fingers would fall off..if I tried to even begin to write as to what I have gotten on social networking.
Jeannette-be careful he has been known to throw hot chicks into his lap..usually when they are smooching him! :)
Neal-it was nice and I know that you understand where I am coming from. I cried so much throughout so I have the video clips to recapture.
James-you aren't kidding. I have two siblings that are working their way to their 50th. I find that truly amazing. Marriage is definitely like real estate..what you put in ...is what you will get out of it.
Terrie-Its my pleasure! I love meeting rainers or any of my online friends!
Susie- Again I think it goes to working towards it and just like real estate..people quit..before they really get started! Thanks for stopping by.
First: A Virtual HUG (and kiss) to Mom and Dad and congratulations on 50 Years! I wish I could have come also! I do hope to meet you both one day! Love you guys!
Second: A Virtual HUG to Jeanette! I can't begin to tell you what you did fro Midori in accepting her invitation to do the challenge with her. I'm so glad that both of you finally got to meet!

How sweet Midori and I think it's wonderful you got to meet Jeanette too. Jay and I will be at NAR in November so we'll get to meet up there...finally!
Congratulations to your parents. Thanks for sharing the event with us.
How beautiful....I'm so glad you were able to meet and share such a special moment together. Good luck to you both...forever:)
Lysa-mom says she promises to be baking soon. I think one day you will meet them! :)
Neal-LOLOLOL! Whatever! It would have never happened..it is supposed to be a joyous occasion and not a slap in the face! :) My brothers hold grudges..me..I just never forget..
Luis-its all good and they know! :) Now you have just committed us to an extra trip to Alabama!
Midori, I'm so disappointed that you and Jeannette will not be coming to Inman next week. Maybe you can be live via Active Rain satellite hook-up?
Midori - what a wonderful day for you, in so many ways. So neat that you and Jeanette got to finally meet, and under such heartwarming circumstances. Thanks for sharing this special moment with you. Sorry we will not get to meet at Inman some other time...
Jeff
This post was so inspiring. Congratulations to your mom and dad - and to you and Jeannette. I thank you for sharing this uplifting experience.
Michael-yes..it would be something to make it to 50 years!
Monika-I can't wait..I think NAR will be a blast! That is another occasion that will be life altering I am sure!
Gita-my pleasure!
Diane-I Jeannette and I will be friends forever..unless of course we fail miserably on this challenge. LOL..no pressure. The pressure is on me...she loves video and me...I can live without it! That is me personally doing it.
Lola-keep those fingers crossed for all of us! We are surrounded by stars and really to me...I have already won..to think we made it this far and all the skills...tools and friendships..yup I have already won.
Brian-yes I am disappointed and I know we will meet! I know you guys will have a blast...we gotta figure something out right especially with all of our news tools right??????
Jeff-I love when you stop by! Yes it was awesome and I would love to meet you! I think your avatar is my favorite ever to see on my posts! I love your biker look that is for sure!
Joan-I got a lot out of the chain of events on Sunday..I attended the sermon..it was about marriage..and effort and committment..then my parents 50 and you can see it was very heartwarming and inspirational and then meeting Jeannette and sharing this very special occasion with her!
Aaww. So sweet. Quick question though... Re: the Flip Cam. I was asking one of my tech geek friends about them last night. He said the quality isn't the greatest and they won't last long before they break. Any personal experience with them?
Lisa-I spent way to much money on my camera/video and I have trouble manuevering it. That video was from my treo..I left my camera in Pt. St. Lucie at my brother's house. The quality is very nice with the flip and have no personal experience as to how long the camera will last. For me it was easy to use and very self explanatory. If I were to buy a new camera it would probaby be the flip. I need to keep it simple! Jeannette used it for the last challenge and it came out really nice!
Midori,
Most people do not even make it to their 5th anniversary any more, your mom and dad have acheived a major milestone in life. Congratulations to them.
Don R.
Midori - what a beautiful post and you have a wonderful family. Thanks for inviting us in for a glimpse.

Midori...
I'm so happy that the two of you finally got to meet. I'm sure you were both exactly or better than each had thought. Sounds like you have a life long friendship, which is a wonderful side advantage to active rain. Liz
I am sorry I am late to the party.... I am thrilled you two had the pleasure of meeting and I am saddened to hear that we won't be seeing you both at Inman.
Best wishes to you both and did I mention you're parents are adorable!!
So sorry I couldn't make it Midori...Glad everything went well...I think I have the flu...still... :-(
Thanks for sharing, This shows it can be done if you hang in there. Great post.
