June 2006 I started my journey on the Activerain real estate network. Yes I participated in forums and social sites before but none of them have impacted my life like Activerain. When I joined I solely trained for CENTURY 21 Sundance Realty and occasionally jumped into sales...
June 2006 - I Was An Activerain Newbie - Today Ghostwriter | Social Media and Real Estate Trainer
I joined this platform in the early stages and there were fewer members, in Florida there were only 60 + profiles. I learned from the best and I had a blast doing it. Follow the links and share the journey! :)

Midori's 100th Post...My True Journey
Back then there were few tutorials | selected members were moderators and the best of the best taught me more in real estate sales | technology | and being social online more than any other source and laid the ground work for me on my journey to pursuing my dreams.
We blogged about everything under the sun and yes debates occurred back then! I watched myself grow as a person. Four years in the making and for a long time, I really didn't know what I wanted to do. Every year I had a plan and every year I failed meaning I had no idea what to do about writing. All I knew was that I wanted to write for a living.

It Ain't EZ 2 Venture Out of The Rain!
Many told me I made mistakes because it seemed I lived on Activerain but inside it didn't matter...I was hooked...and to me, a day without Activerain was like a day without sunshine. Lucky for me the direction I was going it benefited me......let me stress as a REALTOR I would rethink that plan, seriously.

A Lesson In Appreciation-Meeting Online Celebs!
In the middle of 2009 I decided it was time to jump into some sales and get out of management and feeling stuck only training for one company. Most people that I knew were REALTORS and Brokers in town...maybe not the best timing maybe not the best maneuver now as I look back it had to be this way. Let's just say it was a hard year financially and personally! Oh, happy day..it's really starting to pay off!

Missy Caulk This One Is For You - We Is Better Than Me!
I didn't stop there, I applied for a position at a local web company in 2009 and because of my blogging on Activerain, my websites and the content placed on social networks...I couldn't believe it...I was hired to write web content! A dream come true...the opportunity was amazing and I learned so much about SEO | Social Media | Content Writing.
Things Changed Again
At the end of 2009, I was fried, burnt out and wearing too many hats I decided January 2010 will be the end of my selling career and opted to join a real estate referral company and shuffled my priorities around. I was sad but I really wanted to write.

Real Estate Is Technical Warfare!
While working for the web company, people started contacted me for social media services | SEO and my ghostwriting. I was very excited when I picked up my first account...it was time consuming..slow in starting but they never gave up on me. More and more people seemed to contact me either for real estate training | coaching and social media. Still burned out and not enough hours in the day I left the web company and decided it's time to freelance writing and connect people's social media in the process and yes I am still not ready to give up real estate training.
At first, I didn't have enough accounts, giving away free hours | doing things for free...for some reason I thought I needed a portfolio, little did I realize that when you blog on a platform such as Activerain if people know you provide these services that business would naturally come your way based on the performance they witness everyday.
When I think of what Activerain has given me and people ask me was it a waste of time? The answer is Activerain gave me a place to learn and grow and I've made friends that will be life long. I learned from the best of the best. I had closed transactions as well as checks to come. (referrals) and opportunities for radio as well as events. It gave me the notoriety and reputation building needed for building trusting business relationships.
Every Client That I Do Social Media and Ghostwriting Read My Activerain Blog! Real estate sellers, buyers and referrals all of my ghostwriting clients, when asked how they found me...98% lead source....Activerain! BTW it's amazing and they are not all real estate industry people!
Thank You Activerain Readers - Subscribers - Associates - Staff!
This probably is not typical results, please note:

Midori:
What an amazing journey. But think of the friends and the learning, and how much you have grown and changed. Bravo to you for taking the chance to move along.
Jeff
wow, you have had quite a road. It makes me tired reading about it all. good post and good luck.
You joined in June but did not post until September? Happy 4 year anniversary Lots of changes.
I recommend celebrating your success....and knowing that the best is yet to come !
Good morning Midori,
Wow! Just reading your post made my head spin! So many hats to wear but they were interconnected and helped you find your way. As Sally & David said..the best is yet to come!
Great recommendation at the bottom...consistency - balance. And a lot of info in those blogs!
Jeff-thanks!
Bryan-well thats 4 years of life online and living it so I expect the recap to be alot! :) Believe me there was more....and more to come...next I finish ebooks I have started...getting my sites up to par again...and being more focused on my long term goals.
Maureen-I had a hard time interracting at first but I deleted posts and now I could kick myself but they were really horrible. Many of the older posts are distorted probably due to platform changes and adding a signature. So I've been fixing them too! I think it was August I posted but started commenting and lurking in June.
Sally-well I am half way there! :) Now the hard part begins! :)
Dorie-that was a big problem with so many hats...I really tried to be everything to everyone...I always felt like the more challenges the more exciting life is but then you end up with burn out! But I have since learned that I have burn out weekly and that is why I need days off! :)
Gary-I remember blogging everyday and commenting everyday now I try to post at least twice a month. I write so much for others...at the end of the day...I just play on facebook and read. :)
Midori - Very cool and I love the graphics of the rain... nice... We joined in October of 06 What a long happy trip it's been. So glad we met you on here. You have been an inspiration to many bloggers on here. I know you were for us. And of course best of luck in the future :-)
Midori - Great post to share your success. It's a crazy journey but worth it. Thanks for sharing. Keep it up.
Hi Midori -- What an intriguing path you have traveled. I wish you immense satisfaction and success, and balance!
Well this is truly inspiring. I have had to book mark you blog just so I can go back and read them all. Congratulations, on seizing the opportunities as they appeared. Keep up the great work!!
Midori- I've always enjoyed your posts and this one in particular. You gave me a look not only into your own journey but also that of ActiveRain. I've missed seeing you around here as frequently as you had been but, hey, I'll take what I can get.
Wow, what a journey. So are you ghost writing now?
So glad we met in real life in Orlando, I have made so many friends from blogging here. Well worth the effort.
Midori,
That was fun reading. And it also gave me reason to think what other possibilities blogging here can lead to. All the best, with balance.
Great story, great post. I really enjoyed the read. Bully for you!!
Patricia/ Seacoast NH
Wow, look at all the links! How do ou organize them to keep such a long list handy?
I love the rain. How did you do this? Which widget and where did you find it? Cute!
Bob-I am in love with you and the Mrs. I'm really happy workwise and its growing.
Mike-thank you!
Chris- Here is a good one...one of my activerain readers contacted me just as the market started to plummet and I met with the group on a few occassion to start an REO company where I was named the VP of training for a mortgage company as well as asset manager...and the company went no where? If it would have actually happened I would be sitting very pretty right now $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. That died when the mortgage company died. :( I was still managing at CENTURY 21...and almost left 8 months earlier because of this opportunity. Glad I waited.
Kathy-I love this network but at one point I think I was really addicted...I mean pure addiction..thats why I can't stress it enough to get in front of people and balance the blogging.
Missy-I ghostwrite and still train agents...and refer business to the best of the best! I am so happy to have met you...and I hope I will see you again...now that I have a handle on what I want to do...I think I may be out and about again. I just really needed to figure out what I wanted to do. I've been known to go in and out of sales...I get fried and burnt out.
Esko-you have no idea...I have been interviewed, on the radio, asked to be interviewed asked to guest blog, judge a beauty pageant...I could go on and on. The opportunities are endless when you mix blogging with events and face to face!
Cheryl - I add the links one by one...and the graphics came glitter graphics..its html code..
Midori,
So this is what you mentioned about the coming changes in the e-mail. Very interesting. Wishing you the best of luck
