For some they may snub the idea of reblogging...the thought of someone else's written words on your blog, NO WAY! If more people really understood the true value of reblogging...some may consider using it a bit more.
No, reblogging is not for the lazy but for the smart and efficient...you see regardless of how professional we are..how much we think we know...someone else may very well present an idea..thought and written words in a better way...because maybe its their level of expertise.
Let me share with you...the non believer the true value of reblogging...tips for Activerain members..
Think about this...
You are a real estate agent...well versed in real estate but not really well versed in mortgages or home staging...so you subscribe to someone who is the home stager extraordinaire...
Why not provide valuable information to your readers...hopefully potential customers.
You are trying to raise money or awareness on a charity, event or happenings in your area..why not encourage people to reblog your valuable message, just another way to get your message out.
You know the old saying, you tell two friends and so on and so on.
You and your service providers are all on the network...why not help one another along by reblogging their message..you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.
You have blog fog..it happens...you stare at the screen and your own words don't seem to surface.
Find a great post and add your own flava...and there is your post...for the day!
Last year I posted about breast cancer awareness...
That post was reblogged 18 times...imagine the eyes that got to view that post..helping a great cause...the SEO power...again its important to add your own text...your words and theirs..
The author gets link love and your reward....great content and who knows, someone may very well decide to do business with you based on the information you have provided for them.
Don't be shy...don't worry what others think..its your business and you have to find ways to get many messages out...reblog baby...I'm a believer....feel free to reblog mine anytime! :)

Midori....you're so right. I think that you are the person who's providing your clients with the information. It's a great reason to reblog.
I learned this valuable lesson from you....along with lots of other things...my Florida Fine Professor...Blog on Lady....!
Midori - It very solid advice. I have started re-blogging post for two reasons - advice is outside my area of expertise and create more content for my customers.
I have never been one to re-blog but your comment about "not well versed in mortgages" turned the light bulb on for me...thanks.
I have never really thaought about reblogging . INteresting post thanks for the info. I will use it going forward
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Makes perfect sense to me! Going to look for some great information to share with our readers.

Good morning Midori-I think this is an excellent idea. Have a great day. <SMILE>
Midori you are so right! Sometimes others say things so eloquently that you couldn't possibly top it! I know that Jeff Belonger did a post on this last week about adding a good intro to the piece and give generous kudos to the writer. I believe that is also flattering and a 'written high five'.
Ryan is also right, adds interest to your blog for your readers.
Very good points. I have only been hesitant because of liability issues... both art and content. Any suggestions on this?
Midori - You have provided some great reasons to use the reblog functionl
I think it has great utility as a way to share great content and get the word out. What I don't like to see are folks who reblog a ton of stuff as a way to stuff their blog rather than taking time to write themselves (there are several here on AR who do this).
The other value is in writing an introductory comment so readers have a sense as to why you felt the post was worthy of reblogging. ANYONE can just hit the reblog button and do nothing more - what kind of impression does this create?
Jeff
Midori - You've hit the nail right on the head. When I don't know about a particular topic or subject and someone has written an excellent piece on it, then that's the perfect way for me to provide relevant content to my area.
O.K. pink lady...great stuff! I have a lot of content that I would like to write about, and writing about something without really being an expert is not "good blog"! I love the reblog strategy...thanks!
Midori,
Up to now I have not reblogged however after reading your post I can now definitely see the benefits.
Thank you for a great post.
Sharon
I had not thought of all these possibilities. Very good to know about and will start right away to re-blog. Actually someone re-blogged one of mine and it was flattering.
I think all of the above comment are good on this subject. Thanks for the post, it's very good.

For me reblogging helps ideas progress instead of simply reinventing the wheel. In many cases I stumble across a blog where someone else already wrote about what I was intending on blogging.
reblog baby...I'm a believer....feel free to reblog mine anytime! :)
Good morning Midori,
I'm a believer too! I've reblogged several great posts so that ActiveRain newbies can learn some valuable information from older posts.
Midori,
Thanks for the great tip, you are so right about blog/fog. This should help ease it.
Reblogging is a great way tom get ideas to your network while citing your source. It gives the information that you want to share and also credit to the wordsmith.
Midori,
Thanks for the info. You are right, I just started to open my posts for reblogging. Now I need to look at reblogging others posts.
I did not think about it that way. Thanks for bring up some important features of re-blogging.
Midori - you are right about re-blogging, and it is a valuable way to share additional information to your readers.
Midori... Great points... I've been reblogged a few times and consider it an honor. If someone thought enough about a post from my blog to share it with their audience, well... thank you very much!
Midori...
Probably the best explanation of reblogging that I have read to date! Good job!
Midori - Absolutely spot on with this one! I totally agree with you and always leave my re-blog button on. I do reblog others posts sometimes when I find something that I believe would interest my area readers as well. I think it's a great idea and appreciate you pointing this out to everyone. Good Job! Hope you are well!
Ooh and oh yeah I just noticed your ambassador shield. Very nice! A/R couldn't have picked a better person. Congrats!
I've done re-blogging on several posts...some for worthwhile causes, mortgages..etc. Great post and explanation on re-blogging.
Good explanation. It works for me to "flesh out" my blog.
I wish there were lenders, stagers, home inspectors in my market who would or could Re-Blog my content but there really, really aren't. I have Re-Blogged some lenders, a stager in my market and a couple of the local home inspectors. It adds information to my blog that I am not able to provide authority. If their post with a link to them gets read by someone who needs their expertise, I am glad of it, whether they click off of my blog to another members post or not.
I've Re-Blogged people outside of my market because there is so little content to Re-Blog locally. I don't expect or want stagers in Georgia or California to Re-Blog my local content so in that way I don't really agree with
"why not help one another along by reblogging their message..you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours."
I just look for posts where the member is talking to consumers (non-members) NOT about them.
Good advise. I will have to do that
Thanks for taking the fog out of re-blog, Midori! You deserve a gold star for this one, young lady :)
I have never tried this and there is a lot of good content that is buried and older but still valid that others should be aware of. I will have to try once I find those golden nuggets within the system
Good points. I never even think about re-blogging, but I'll have to keep that in the back of my mind.
Hmmm, maybe I don't re-blog as much as I should. Just don't think about it. I will keep this in mind now, as it does not really matter where my local consumers get good information, but that they do get it. Thank you!
great point! I haven't reblogged anyone yet but I think I may definitely have to reblog this one! :)
I reblog when I find a good article in a topic I am not an expert in--such as a finance blog or home inspector.
Good points Midori - I've reblogged once or twice and just for the reason's you mentioned - either because the content was out of my expertise - or I just thought the blog was awesome!
Midori, I have never reblogged anything but I certainly see your point. By the way, you are all welcomed to reblog me all you want!
When I reblog I always feel like I am stealing but I LOVE to have my stuff reblogged. It is definitely flattering!
I couldn't agree more! Sometimes there are topics that I think my clients or potential clients would find helpful, but I don't have the time -- or sometimes the expertise -- to blog about, the reblog option is perfect! A win win for everyone!
Midori - I re-blog for the exact same reason. It also makes the blogger seem well-read or well-educated if we know exactly who to point to for expertise outside of our own. Thanks for the tips for others.
Thanks for looking under the hood on re-blogging and showing the benefits.
Midori - I love reblogging and have found it to be a great tool! Especially on a local level, but nationally too. Sometimes we bring different perspective to a post and share it with different groups of people, this broadens everyone exposure!
Midori,
I loved this. Since I'm new, one of the first things I did was reblog mortgage info that is not in my scope of expertise. Great blogs have all around information and I cannot be good at everything!
I really didn't understand reblogging ! I thought it was like stealing someone's work ! Thanks for the eye opening post.
Midori - I agree, I love reblogging and to have my posts reblogged. They link back to my original post so potentially, if people like the message, they will click to see my blog also.
Midori... you stole one of my featured blogs... lol I was going to write this as a follow up blog when I wrote my last one about giving introductions to those blogs that you reblog. But seriously, you did a great job here. I truly think that someone could get good google juice by reblogging.... it's been proven and that was what I was going to write in mine. Nice job here.
Good stuff. Nobody should let pride get in the way by not re-blogging. They only hurt themselves.
BINGO! This is the point I was trying to make in a recent post myself. I see much more reblogs on posts that are agent centered rather than consumer centered, and I often wonder why. I reblog posts that I think my consumer readers would benefit from that are either not in my speciality (like mortgages) or are simply posts that are said as well as, or better than I could have anyway. Thanks, Midori
Midori - you make great points! I have only re blogged once because i thought it was an excellent post. After reading this Ithink I will be a little more active in re blogging to provide good content to my readers.
I think that the reblog feature is awesome. I like to reblog others, and love the compliment of having my posts rebloged.
Midori,
Thanks for explaining all of these details....guess I wasn't looking at re-blogging this way...
I have seen the way now.
Hi Midori -- Expanding one's reach is a great idea, and this is an excellent way to go about it as well.
These are great reasons for reblogging, and I probably need to do more of it and take advantage of all the great writers and information available here in the Rain.
Midori: You are so right.. the power of the re-blog is great.. thanks for sharing.
Midori - Thanks - these are all good points I never thought about.
Reblogging is a compiment as long as the link is there. Links are love. Linklove raises everyones Whuffie.

Midori,
This is a great message to all of us and especially the new member here on AR.
BTW, Congrats on becoming an AR Ambassador, this right up your alley, you will be great at it.
Midori, I think the example of your breast cancer awareness blog is an excellent one. I re-blog selectively, and it's usually because I see a message that I'd like to help get out to as many people as possible.
Well Midori, here it is two-plus months later, and I finally read your article about re-blogging. In fact, yours is the first blog I read right after reading one that made me say "Sherry, here is someone succinctly saying what you haven't been able to express. why not Re-blog?" And there you were, pointedly asking the same question and giving excellent answers. Thanks!
Midori- Thank you for this valuable post! I've been away from AR awhile assisting with family matters, but returned to blogging this evening. In the past I've been afraid of the idea of re-blogging, but you gave such valuable information that I actually re-blogged this post. :)
Thanks again for sharing!!
Midori, I missed your post, but the re-blog by Tracie brought me here. I've re-blogged a few times and had my posts re-blogged so I have felt that they are useful. And I liked the way that you explained the value of re-blogging.
Re-blogging can be a valuable service...or when it is "gamed" ....a lazy way to get points !
Hi Midori...Thanks for this post, I agree, When I see a post that is important or interesting I re-blog and share the post with my subscribers...Thants what AR is all about...
Thanks Midori,
Great info, I feel like a permanent newbie, I learn something new everyday in the Rain!
I have the same problem as one of the other commenters, not enough people in my area use AR to blog and I often re-blog from someone outside my state
