Missy Caulk This One Is For You-We Is Better Than Me!

A few days ago I posted about contacting the White House ...as I read through the comments...I noticed Missy's comment....you asked for it you got it....

With over 147,413 members on the Activerain network ...if I learned one thing by being in this network...we is always better than me....so I challenge as many people as possible to take a minute and write the White House....

June 5th, 2009 or reblog a post...but better yet...write your own thoughts..directly to the White House!

Please post on that particular day.....or write the White House...lets flood the White House's contact us page and the search engines.

I was really thinking do these people in Washington really understand what people are going through..hell what we as real estate agents are going through...trying to help people who want help but with little cooperation.

Bailout the People and not Establishments!

We tend to write many great articles here...reporting the facts in many cases...we tend to express our opinion but really what good is it doing?  We can all do more......

President Obama is committed to creating the most open and accessible administration in American history.

While some may think this is not your fight in truth it is everyone...its impacting...you...me and many others.  With empty houses...property values....and more broken dreams, uncooperative lenders, ridiculous time lines and the excessive cost to taxpayers today, tomorrow and the future.

Sometimes all it takes...is that one extra voice...

Maybe instead of "bailing out the people" the White House should consider bailing out nobody and balancing the budget before the government goes bankrupt...

Wow, I didn't see this, I am been commenting early and then if I have time at night and not too exhausted coming back. Ok June 5th on my calendar.

With the power of Activerain, we need to get the message out and let the White house know. It also would be helpful to let the CEO's of the processors know what is going on. I am sure they have no idea the incompetance that is surrounding them.

Midori.  What can the government do now that they have spent all of the money and then some?

Sure, I'll send a message on June 5th.  My message will be in the form of a question.

"What do the Secretary of the Treasury, the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and the President of the United States believe is the relationship of HOME EQUITY TO GDP???"

I definately think that the more the people educate themselves and voice their opinions the better. It might result in a country I don't recognize, or like....but that is what a representative republic is all about. I have sent my opinions to the White House....but they haven't responded? I'm shocked! I'm finding myself becomin more Libertarian every day. Government is not the answer, it's the problem. We would never have been in this position in the first place had they not bowed to liberal pressure to lend to ANYONE..and they are now extending the problem by forcing "solutions" to keep people in these homes they can't afford.

I'll resend that to the White House...but somehow I don't think that's what they want to hear.

What do you want the government to do?  Exactly who do you want them to give money to and exactly how much money do you want them to get?

Where should this money come from?  Should we borrow more money and burden future generations with our debt?  Should we tax people more?  Should we just print up more money and burden everyone with an inflation tax?

I'd like to see them take back all the bailout money and cut government spending in half.

How much money does your sick couple you wrote about need?  If 147,000 members each chipped in $10 we could raise $1.47 million.

I'd rather help someone directly than send in my money to the government and hope that it gets to the people who really need it.  Let's start a fund to help people who really need it.  We can use the old slogan, "When it Rains, it pours"

Oh, I'm in too!!!   In fact I'll ask some of my clients to write in also.   And, Tim, you pose some really good questions...personally I would like to government to stop using our tax money to bail out corporations that helped get us into the current economic mess.   I agree with your statement about taking back all the bailout money and cutting spending.   I do think they need to do more to help the actual individual taxpayer though too.

For example, I have a seller right now who has been trying in vain to get their lender to modify their current mortgage...why?  Because they've never been late.  This seller lost his job back in March, but because of his savings he has still been current on all his bills.   Because he was responsible and had a savings account with actual money in it, he can not get any of his creditors to work with him.   It should be a crime that people have to become absolutely destitute before anyone will "negotiate" with them on their mortgage, credit cards or anything else.

Just my two cents.

Yes, we need to have ours, as well as our clients, voices be heard.  If the lawmakers only knew what was happening on the front lines I think they would make something happen.  Problem is, I don't think they know.  And I don't believe our representatives from NAR are telling them the down and dirty details of the current real estate market.  Thanks for putting this together and best of luck.

On June 4th I will post again...and will send my entry to the white house on the 5th! To be perfectly honest..this was not intended to be debate..so I won't be debating..its a call to action to speak your mind...have your voice heard..and send the message to those that need to hear it.

There are too many spoken words that often get ignored..those spoken words never make it to those that should listen...and we tend to cry and gripe and never go to the powers to be...because we believe can't make a difference.

Whatever you have to say...regardless of which side you are on in any matter...say it...to them..the white house.. we can't change things if we believe we can't...we can't make a difference if we do not speak.

I'll never believe that I cannot make a difference...even if its just me with one little voice.

Tim those people who I have attempted to help has now hired an attorney...it was my recommendation all along..to try and get their loan modified.  I guess my point is when you are fighting for your life...those material possessions people tend to hold on too..really have very little value...I know this and I can tell you I understand too well.

To me a good way to spend bailout..is to assist the sick to get healthier and allow them to be a productive part of society...should someone be denied quality heath care...not even insurance but healthcare because they cannot afford to pay?

To have better systems in place so the programs available today are not abused...which they are and which include banks..oil...all government spending...the truth is not only will our grand kids have to pay so will their kids and so on and so on

To make sure there are plenty of funds available to ensure that our future presidents, future doctors recieve the education that they need to keep the U.S. prosperous..and with a happy and healthy society. Parents can barely pay for the basics let alone college.  I'm talking the Average American.   And if people are discounting this fact...give yourself a reality check...go apply for a good paying job..and you will see what I am talking about...the requirements for employment today is quite different from the last time I looked in the want ads.

Do I have a problem paying higher taxes for this? NOPE because in my lifetime..all these things will matter to me...and impact me and impact the U.S.  People are so not valued..but the mighty dollar is.

As you can see I am very passionate about this topic..and I will address the housing issue..bailout issue on June 4th..and will send to the White House in their email June 5.  Hop  HOPE aboard

If the fans of Jericho can do it once...so can we! :)

No special reason for June 5th...just thought it would give those who want to participate ample time!

I am a Canadian and we have been saying all along- Give the money to the people to pay their mortgages. It is better to have whole neighbourhoods than broken neighbourhoods. There is a severe domino effect when people have to  move out of their homes.

The bank execs are getting big salaries and this huge bailout was to help the homeowners.

Do any of the agents out there know of anyone small homeowner that was bailed out with the impetus package to the banks?

The banks should have dropped the mortgage rates back to where they started, before the 12 month step-up and people would have continued to pay.

Midori, Last I heard the "save your home" program helped between 1 and 4 families!!! If we utilized Tim's idea we could probably do at least 3 times as well! Isn't that incredible?

I do agree we can be heard if enough of us make noise at the same time.

Hi Midori -- I have sent numerous emails to that White House expressing my displeasure with how I feelthat they are handling things,  I'll definitely follow up in June.

Actually, I dispise how they are handling this economy.  If they are right and I'm wrong I will sure owe them an apology -- if they to the right thing within at least a year or two and we aren't having to learn another language (just kidding -- I hope!)

One thing I do know is that if my husband and I ran our economy/budget the way the government is running theirs-- we'd be on welfare and food stamps -- wait a minute -- is that what they want???
